A final thank you

As trip leader, the 18 months of planning have been thoroughly worthwhile. It has been a wonderful trip that the students will remember for ever. I was recently speaking to a west bridgford parent who remembers his ski trip at 'comp' from his year 11 days and I'm sure your children will be the same.
Their conduct has been exemplary throughout and it has been a pleasure to take them abroad and return then in one piece (aside from one sprained wrist which did not drastically affect the student's trip). The students need a good sleep (and wash) before returning to school on Monday morning. Thanks for all your efforts and if any student or parent want copies of the photos then let me know.

Mr Whitmarsh.

Arrival time

We have just left the services so we anticipate arrival back at school at 13:45.

Good progress

We have just joined the M11.  We are due for a lunch stop at the services (which the students will be delighted to hear has a McDonalds in).
We are right on schedule to be back to school at 13:30 and I will update you when we leave the services.

Watching the best movie ever

Our birthday boy Andrew chose Back to the Future as our first film to watch on the final step of our journey.

We made it

By the narrowest of margins we have boarded our scheduled ferry of 7:45

Arrived at Calais

We have now arrived at Calais but there is a huge queue of coaches so may delay our arrival back.

The journey

There has been near silence bar a few snores for the past 6 hours. Every student is asleep and looks very cosy under their blanket.
We are progressing well and are around 150km from Calais. Our ferry crossing is 7:45 local time and I will keep you posted  on our expected arrival time back in Nottingham.

Bye bye boarders

Final day - The beginners

This year the beginner skiers have been wonderful. Their progress over the course of the week is up there with the very best beginners we have ever taken. It is incredible to consider this as there was laughter all round on the first day or so as they tumbled on the baby slope but during their time here have gone on red runs and some have done black runs as well.
.
Their instructor said that they have been a pleasure all week and said it is very rare that he can take beginners to France and ski them back.

Below is a photo of each of them on a very tricky red run.

Put your poles up in the air

The intermediate skiers have made the most of the ski pass by skiing what seemed like every single piste. They have skied; Sansicario, Sauze, Sestriere, Claviere and went into France.
